Garmin has announced a partnership with Pokémon that brings two free watch faces and integration with the Pokémon Sleep app, in line with World Sleep Day.
For hardcore users of the gamified sleep app like me (for real: peep that shiny Charizard below), it’s a long-awaited move. Until now, only those wearing an Apple Watch and a Wear OS smartwatch for sleep tracking could port their data into the app for easy access to Snorlax’s Drowsy Power.
So, if you had a Garmin watch, you had to perform the cursed move of placing your phone under your pillow in order to actually play. It’s a trick I’ve employed in desperate moments—like when my Apple Watch ran out of battery on a trip—but this broadens the scope of usable devices hugely.
Now, virtually every modern Garmin watch can link with the app. The full list is viewable here via the Pokémon Sleep support page, but, to be frank, it’s about as long as the modern Pokédex, so you probably only need to jump on over if you have a super-old model you want to double-check.
As an added bonus for linking the pair, any player who registers their Garmin data before November 2026 will be gifted three Poké Biscuits to help lure in new sleepy companions.
Prepare for trouble, and make it double
Beyond the quite literally game-changing new data sync capabilities, Garmin has also released two new dynamic watch faces on the Connect IQ Store that react to your daily physiological changes.
The ‘Snorlax & Friends’ face features the Kanto starters and Pikachu, while ‘I Choose You’ (above) allows you to pick one of 48 different Pokémon to live on your wrist.
You can check the full set here on Garmin’s download page for the watch face, but, basically, it currently includes the obvious fan favorites: all the ‘Eeveelutions’ and every starting trio from the nine released generations (though, notably, not the just-announced trio for the upcoming Pokémon Winds and Waves generation landing next year).
Garmin’s Body Battery metric plays the key role here; when your energy levels are high, your Pokémon is up and active. As your battery drains throughout the day, your partner will visibly tire.
To help you when you’re in a Drowzee (*smirk emoji*) state, the faces even enter a dedicated night mode 90 minutes before your scheduled sleep.
It’s one of the most fun (and responsive) watch face sets we’ve seen land on Garmin—and ideal timing for anybody (again, like myself) wanting to keep a keen eye on how many hours of sleep they’ve lost to Pokémon Pokopia in the last week or so.
